Police are looking for a suspect in a counterfeit cash investigation

ADJALA-TOSORONTIO TOWNSHIP - Ontario Provincial Police, Nottawasaga Detachment are seeking the assistance of the public to identify a female who is a suspect in passing counterfeit American Currency. 

The following is a media release prepared by Shelburne Police Service regarding incidents in their area:  

We believe the same suspect is responsible for passing counterfeit American Currency at the Rosemont General Store.

On Tuesday January 19, Shelburne Police were notified by a local business that they fell victim to counterfeit American cash.

The investigation has revealed that at least four Shelburne businesses were defrauded by the use of fake American $50 bills on Sunday, January 17 2016.

Shelburne Police are appealing the public to help identify the two female suspects. 

They are described as:

  1. Female, 18 to 30 years old, white, medium build, dark long hair, high beige or light brown boots, black coat with fur collar that has a deep “V” in the front, beige or light brown wallet, black pants, burgundy or red sweater, heavy gold necklace.
  2. Female, 18-30 years old, white, heavier build, black boots and pants, dark parka type coat with fur around collar, was wearing sunglasses while inside the stores.
