Daytime robbery has police searching for two suspects in the south end

The suspects got away with some merchandise but nobody was hurt

An early-afternoon robbery on the city’s south end has police searching for two suspects.

Barrie Police responded to a robbery call shortly after 1 p.m. Thursday at the Freedom Mobile located at 555 Essa Rd.

Two men entered the store with their faces covered and threatened the lone employee with a knife, demanding inventory from the store.

Barrie Police’s Jennett Mays told BarrieToday that no one was hurt but the suspects did get away with merchandise.

“The employee did the right thing and complied with their demands, and the suspects made off with a quantity of inventory,” said Mays. “They got into a waiting vehicle, which was dark in colour, and fled the plaza. The employee did not sustain any physical injuries.”

The suspects are described as:

  • male, East Indian
  • 20-25 years old
  • 5’5” – 5’7” tall
  • medium build

Suspect number one was wearing a grey sweater.

Suspect number two was wearing a red sweater.
