The world’s only travelling water dance company will be presenting ALIVE: The Spirit of Ukraine, a fantastic, new, special dance production with a star cast of Ukrainian dancers. The show will be performed across fourteen Canadian cities between July 23 and Aug. 22, 2022.
In Barrie the show will be held at the Georgian Theatre on July 26, 2022.
Ticket sales start on May 26 at 11 a.m.
Ticket sales will support the Ukrainian relief efforts from Canada.
The Spirit of Ukraine
The show offers the unique opportunity to experience, through these brilliant Ukrainian dancers and circus performers, a story centred around the timeless theme of good and evil. The theme is particularly relevant as the world witnesses the dreadful war in Ukraine. The fantastic Ukrainian artists will rise above the violence of the war and will proudly and magnanimously spread the message of love: no matter how strong the opposing forces may be, you will prevail if your heart is full of love and passion. The show truly promises to be an unmissable event.
Support for Ukraine
Creating a splash with this spectacular water dance show, an array of beautiful and talented Ukrainian dancers will draw further attention to the horrific war in Ukraine. The performers will not only invite the audience to get acquainted with the indomitable spirit and rich culture of the Ukrainian nation but also to revel in the diverse dance forms that Ukrainian immigrants have proudly introduced to Canadians over the last century. The show will offer the audience the opportunity to show their support for those displaced by the Ukrainian crisis.
Canada is home to the second largest Ukrainian diaspora and the Ukrainian community in Canada has been at the forefront of the relief efforts in Ukraine. The Canada-Ukraine Foundation (https://www.cufoundation.ca/) has been tirelessly raising funds for the Ukrainian Humanitarian Appeal.
Portions of the proceeds from ticket sales of ALIVE: Spirit of Ukraine will go to the CUF, which has been delivering aid and assistance to people in Ukraine affected by the war and to support the Ukrainian refugees trying to build a new home in Canada.
The Star Cast
The brilliant cast of the show are superstars in their own right, having participated in numerous International shows and festivals. Among them are the Best Ukrainian Circus Duo on Aerial Silks, Champions of Ukraine in Ballrom Dancing, winners of the international festival "Fiestalonia Milenio", members of the Virsky Ukrainian State Folk Dance Ensemble and the Veryovka Ukrainian National Folk Choir Ensemble to name a few.
