COVID outbreak has ended in Barrie hospital's cardiac renal unit

Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre say 12 patients were affected and there were no deaths; Unit now open to admissions and visitors

A COVID-19 outbreak has been declared over in the Barrie hospital's cardiac renal unit.

The announcement was made Tuesday afternoon by Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre (RVH), in collaboration with the Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit.

During the outbreak, which was declared Jan. 16, RVH says 12 patients were affected. No staff members contracted the virus and there were no deaths.

The unit is now open to admissions and visitors.
