The County of Simcoe economic development office is hosting a Workforce Connect Conference in June.

The conference will take place June 7 from 8 to 10 a.m. at Tangle Creek Golf, located just outside the Barrie city limits at 4730 Side Road 25 in Essa Township.

An online option is available June 8 from 9 to 11 a.m.

Registration can be completed here.

The goal of the event is to “bring together business leaders, entrepreneurs and human resource professionals across sectors including manufacturing, tourism, agriculture, tech and more,” according to a news release from the county.

The conference will include keynote speakers and roundtable discussions on topics including building, attracting and retaining a workforce, creating workplace cultures that attract and retain talent, keys to future-proofing talent strategies, and labour shortage challenges and solutions.

“Building up our local businesses is key to the county’s future. Events like the Workforce Connect Conference help businesses to learn from one another as well as regional experts so that they can succeed, grow, and support our workforce,” said county Warden Basil Clarke.
