Colts split eastern road trip through Ottawa and Kingston

Colts fall in Ottawa before rebounding with a victory in Kingston

The Barrie Colts split a pair of games this weekend during an eastern swing through Ottawa and Kingston in Ontario Hockey League action.

The Colts fell 4-3 to the Ottawa 67's on Saturday afternoon before defeating the Kingston Frontenacs, 4-2, on Sunday.

On Sunday afternoon in Kingston, scoring for the Colts were Alliston native Tyson Foerster, Tyler Tucker, Joey Keane and Lucas Chiodo.

Barrie's Ryan Suzuki, who leads the OHL in points with 15, had a pair of assists.

Tucker also had an assist and was named the game's first star. 

Colts goalie Maksim Zukhov stopped 38 of 40 shots to pick up the win. 

Jason Robertson scored both Kingston goals, while Midhurst native Tyler Burnie had an assist. 

On Saturday in Ottawa, 67's forward Kody Clark scored the game-winning goal with less than five minutes in the game.

Barrie's goals were scored by Ben Hawerchuk, Matej Pekar and Chiodo. 

Zhukov took the loss on Saturday. 

The Colts (3-3-1) now sit in seventh place in the OHL's Eastern Conference standings. 

Barrie has three games in three nights coming up, beginning Thursday in Niagara against the IceDogs (3-2-1) before travelling to Sudbury on Friday to face the Wolves (6-2), who sit in first place in the conference.

The Colts are at home Saturday night against the IceDogs.
