The Barrie Colts are in tough this weekend with three games against some of the Ontario Hockey League's top teams.

"Everybody is tough nowadays," said Colts head coach Dale Hawerchuk.

The Colts, who sit in seventh place in the Eastern Conference with a 14-12-1 record, just two points up on the Hamilton Bulldogs, start their weekend with a home game on Thursday night at the Barrie Molson Centre when the Oshawa Generals come to town.

The Generals are fourth in the East with a 17-9-2 record.

Oshawa's deep lineup features Team Canada world junior team invitee Jack Studnicka, a Boston Bruins prospect, as well as Collingwood native Allan McShane, a Montreal Canadiens draft pick, and Barrie native and former Colt, defenceman Matt Brassard, who's part of the Vancouver Canucks organization.

Game time Thursday is 7:30 p.m. at the BMC.

"Oshawa has been playing well, so we have to be ready at home, and then we're going into Sudbury and the Soo, so it's a good challenge for our club this weekend," Hawerchuk said.

The Colts head to Sudbury to take on the Wolves, who are second in the East with a record of 17-8-1-1. Puck drop is set for 7:05 p.m. at Sudbury Community Arena.

Barrie wraps up its weekend with a Sunday matinee in Sault Ste. Marie against the Soo Greyhounds, who sit second in the Western Conference behind the London Knights. Game time is 2:07 p.m., at GLF Memorial Gardens.
