Over 50 Georgian staff and students will share their hidden talents at the 27th annual Georgian’s Got Talent (or not) Benefit Concert to help raise funds for financially challenged students.
Performances will take place Thursday, March 28 and Friday, March 29 at the Georgian Theatre (Barrie Campus).
The benefit concert will feature all sorts of acts: dance, music, and comedy.
“This year’s show features the usual mix of staff and students plus we have a number of new performers, which is always really exciting,” said director Elaine Murray, who has been on the organizing committee since the show began over 25 years ago.
Graphic design student Myshel Pajuaar will be performing in the show for the second year in a row.
“I’m really looking forward to sharing the stage again with all the amazing talent Georgian has,” said Pajuaar. ”I’ve met some great people while participating in the show. This year I’m being accompanied by a band featuring two of my instructors – which is really cool.”
Proceeds from this year’s show will fund the annual Gord Bastian Memorial Entrance Award, as well as Georgian’s financial aid bursaries.
Tickets are $15 and a dinner/show special is available for $30. Students, seniors and alumni can purchase tickets for $10. Tickets can be purchased at the Bear Essentials Store at Georgian’s Barrie Campus, online or at the door.
People are also encouraged to bring a non-perishable food item for the Georgian Food Locker, the college’s on-campus student food bank.
