A convenience store clerk was sent to hospital Thursday night after being injured in an armed robbery by two masked men.

Police say the suspects, believed to be armed with a knife and a gun, robbed the Hasty Market store located at Marsellus and Mapleview around 10 p.m.

"There were two clerks inside at the time. One of the clerks was injured and was taken to hospital," said Const. Adam Morris.

The suspects fled in a vehicle.

Forensic identification officers arrived around 11 p.m. to process the scene, including checking for fingerprints.

Police will also be reviewing any surveillance video from the plaza.

The canine unit, tactical support unit and uniformed officers responded to the area along with detectives from the major crime unit.

Police say more information will be released as it becomes available.

Anyone with information is asked to call Barrie Police at 705-725-7025.
