Update: 1:00 p.m.

All lanes and the ramps have been reopened.

OPP Sgt. Kerry Schmidt tells BarrieToday the cause of the incident is something he's never seen before - a snow load.

"There was an overload of snow on the roof of the trailer and that caused the trailer roof to collapse, pull the walls in and as soon as that happened all structural integrity was lost and the belly dropped down to the ground," explained Schmidt.

The truck was carrying a full load of paper.

No charges will be laid.

Original story:

Access from Highway 88 to southbound Highway 400 at Bradford is closed due to a disabled transport truck.

The trailer of the transport collapsed earlier this morning due to a heavy load, according to OPP Sgt. Kerry Schmidt.

One southbound lane of the 400 is closed south of Highway 88 for the cleanup and investigation.

Officers waited for the peak of morning rush to finish before removing the truck which was loaded with rolls of paper.

Schmidt estimates it will be three hours before everything is reopened.
