An eye-catching item on Monday night's general committee agenda was around the city potentially purchasing — or at least talking about it — a high-profile downtown property which currently contains Hooligans Restaurant.
However, that's about as far as it got.
No details around the potential acquisition were discussed regarding 66 Dunlop St. E., which is located across from Memorial Square/Meridian Place.
Coun. Mike McCann, who had the item placed on the agenda, quickly withdrew it.
The Ward 10 councillor said he brought it up early in the summer for discussion when city council reconvened, but with ongoing developments around COVID-19 and the workload already being experienced by senior staff at city hall, he pulled it back.
"I'm going to withdraw this and end the discussion right now and maybe investigate this at a later date," McCann said.
