NEWS RELEASE

BARRIE POLICE

*************************
On Thursday February 4, just after 11 p.m., police observed a vehicle traveling northbound on Anne Street.

The vehicle had veered towards the curb and then back into its lane.

Police stopped the vehicle and despite the driver’s efforts to conceal the smell of alcohol by smoking a cigarette and chewing gum, the 67-year-old Barrie male was arrested for impaired care and control.

He was transported the Barrie Police Station where he provided breath samples and further charged with over 80.

The male now faces a 90-day licence suspension and a 7-day vehicle impoundment.

He will appear in a Barrie Court in March.
