Members of the Elmvale District High School (EDHS) Gender and Sexual Diversity Club recently presented Springwater Township council with a $1,000 cheque to be put toward the installation of a rainbow crosswalk in the village.
The crosswalk will be located at the intersection of Queen and Maria streets in Elmvale.
The township expects the crosswalk to be installed in May.
At a meeting on Aug. 3, 2022, council agreed to partner with EDHS for the installation of the crosswalk to further promote inclusion and support toward the LGBTQ+ community in Springwater.
