Charges laid in school bus collision

School bus collision - Innisfil

On Thursday March 31, 2016 at 9:22 am officers were called to a collision involving a local school bus that had entered a ditch on Sideroad #10 between the second and third line of Innisfil.

There were no school children on the bus at the time of the collision.

The lone bus driver, was extricated from the bus by Innisfil Fire and Rescue and taken to a local hospital by Simcoe County paramedics with non-life threatening injuries.

Sideroad #10 was closed for three hours while a heavy tow was used to remove the school bus from the ditch.

The driver of the bus, a local woman, was charged with careless driving and improper seat belt under the Highway traffic Act.

No other vehicle was involved in the collision.
