Boston Pizza International Inc. is excited to announce the grand opening of its 118th Ontario location at 447 Cundles Road East in Barrie. The doors officially opened on Sunday, Dec. 18, and employs more than 80 team members and will play an active role in the local community.
"The Boston Pizza brand has been a staple in the Barrie community for many years and we are thrilled to bring a second Boston Pizza location to the residents here," says Mark Torchia. "Boston Pizza has always been a great fit for this growing community, combining a casual family restaurant with a lively sports bar."
Boston Pizza Barrie North is owned by Mark Torchia and Carla Torchia. Along with General Manager Abhi Sinha, the local management team brings more than 30 years of restaurant and hospitality experience, including experience owning and operating four other Boston Pizza locations in Ontario.
As part of the store's grand opening activities, more than $1,800 was donated to Canadian Breast Cancer Research and their Run for the Cure initiative.
"To continue to make a difference in the Barrie community, we are excited to work closely with even more of the local sports teams, schools and other groups," says Abhi Sinha. "As part of Boston Pizza brand's long tradition of giving back to the local community, we plan to support the Barrie Colts, Georgian College and the Bayfield Recreation Center in addition to other local groups and causes."
Boston Pizza Barrie North is located in the newly-built plaza on Cundles Road East, near a growing residential community and just minutes away from Georgian College and Royal Victoria Regional Health Center. The design of the store includes a more modern but still familiar Boston Pizza look and feel.
The restaurant features a 100-seat dining room and the sports bar, with its massive video wall of TVs, no smaller than 60 inches, can accommodate an additional 100 sports fans. Boston Pizza Barrie North also has a large 66-seat outdoor patio.
