By-election to be held February 1

Nominations will be accepted for Barrie's Ward 7 byelection starting Tuesday, November 17 and closing on December 18. Advance polls will be held prior to voting day, expected to be February 1, 2016.

Nominations will be accepted for Barrie's Ward 7 byelection starting Tuesday, November 17 and closing on December 18.

Advance polls will be held prior to voting day, expected to be February 1, 2016.

Council approved the by-election in Barrie's Ward 7 to replace former councillor John Brassard who will be sworn in this week as Barrie-Innisfil MP.

The process will cost over $40,000 and the replacement will be sworn in at a city council meeting on Feb. 8, 2016. The current term of Council ends in October, 2018.
