Friday night Barrie police conducted a RIDE program as part of an ongoing initiative to detect and deter impaired drivers.
As a result :
2 Drivers were charged with impaired driving.
1 driver was charged for failing to provide a sample of his/her breath.
1 driver was given a 3 day license suspension for registering a warn on the approved screening device.
5 other drivers were charged with various other Highway Traffic Act Offences.
Drivers are reminded that RIDE is a year round initiative and urge you to make alternative arrangements to arrive home safely after enjoying alcoholic beverages.
