Burglary investigation leads to Newmarket pawn shop

On Thursday, November 12, 2015, Barrie Police Street Crime Unit arrested a male and female [alleged to be] responsible for two break and enters within the City of Barrie on November 9, 2015.

Further investigation led police to a pawn shop in the town of Newmarket, where the accused parties sold the items they had stolen.

Police were able to retrieve the items.

A 26-year-old female and 27-year-old male from Barrie have been charged with two counts of; break and enter, theft and possession of stolen property.

The female was released on a promise to appear with an undertaking and will appear in a Barrie court in December.

The male was held for a bail hearing Friday morning.
