Brisk hike through Oro-Medonte forest gets juices flowing (10 photos)

Simcoe County Forest off Bass Lake Side Road in Oro-Medonte Township offers winter wonderland to hikers, skiers and snowshoers

The tree cover provided great protection from any wind during a particularly cold day in the Simcoe County Forest off Bass Lake Side Road and Line 6 in Oro-Medonte Township.

Add in the sunshine and it appeared almost balmy for those who were warmly dressed.

The forest contains multi-use hilly trails that attracts hikers, cross-country skiers, snowshoers, snowmobilers and even back-country tobogganers.

While the main paths are tracked down thanks to snowmobile use, the building layers of snow will soon require the use of snowshoes for those wanting to foot it.
