Bradford woman, 75, charged with impaired

In a separate incident, a 19-year-old Bradford man faces drug charges following a RIDE check



Impaired driving

BRADFORD - On Wednesday, December 16, 2015, just after 6 p.m., a concerned citizen called South Simcoe Police to report an impaired driver.

As part of the search for the vehicle, the officer went to the owner's address, and located the car in the driveway, running, with a woman in the driver's seat.

The officer spoke to the driver and quickly placed her under arrest.

As a result of further testing at the station, a 75-year-old Bradford woman was charged with Impaired Driving and Drive Over 80 mgs.

Her licence has been suspended for 90 days.

She will appear in Bradford court at the end of the month. 

Festive R.I.D.E. 

BRADFORD - On Wednesday, December 16, 2015, officers from the South Simcoe Police Festive R.I.D.E. team set up at two locations in Bradford.

A total of 210 vehicles were stopped.

5 roadside screening device tests were conducted, and one driver was issued with a three day driver's licence suspension. 

One driver, a 19-year-old Bradford man, had his car searched after an officer smelled marijuana in his vehicle.

The search located a small quantity of marijuana, and other drug paraphernalia, including two air pistols.

The man was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance, and will appear in court in January.
