Bradford man faces numerous charges after traffic stop

The driver provided the officer with a false name and refused to provide a breath sample

On February 5, 2016 at 6: 30 p.m. a member of the South Simcoe Police Traffic unit was doing traffic enforcement in Bradford.  

He observed a vehicle driving in an erratic manner on Simcoe Road.  

After checking the plates on the vehicle it was determined they were on the wrong vehicle.  

Upon stopping the motor vehicle and having a conversation with the driver the roadside breath demand was given.  

The driver provided the officer with a false name and refused to provide a breath sample.  

He was arrested and taken to the police station.

The end result was that a 28-year-old Bradford man was charged with refuse to provide breath sample, obstruct police, having open liquor, no insurance plus five other Highway Traffic Act infractions.

The accused was served a 90-day licence suspension and his vehicle was impounded for seven days.

He was released on a Promise to Appear.
