Big turnout for Terry Fox Run

Hundreds in Barrie honour Canadian hero's memory

Hundreds of people ran, walked and rode bikes in the 36th annual Terry Fox Run in Barrie.

Fox began his Marathon of Hope in 1980, running more 40 kms a day on a prosthetic limb to raise money and awareness for cancer research.

The Canadian hero died the following summer at the age of 22.
