CAMBRIDGE – The Intercounty Baseball League (IBL) announced Barrie infielder Jordan Castaldo as its Rawlings Player of the Month for May.

Castaldo, a nine-year veteran from Toronto, led qualified hitters in average (.560), on-base percentage (.633), slugging percentage (1.004), and OPS (1.673).

The 30-year-old is tied for the lead with three home runs, and his nine RBI are two behind Toronto's Marcus Knecht for tops in the IBL.

Castaldo is second with five walks and has one strikeout in 30 plate appearances.

Barrie is off to a 5-1 start as it looks to win a sixth straight IBL title.
