The Barrie Baycats moved into sole possession of first place with a 13-1 win over the Toronto Maple Leafs Tuesday night at Christie Pits.

It was the Baycats' sixth straight win, and they lead second-place Kitchener by a game.

Tim Smith went 6-for-6 with two doubles and four singles to pace the Baycats' 21-hit attack. He drove in two and scored three times. Branfy Infante had three hits, including his first home run, three RBI and three runs, while Ryan Spataro also went deep for the first time this season and added two singles.

Jordan Castaldo drove in two, Kyle DeGrace had three hits and two runs, Jeff Cowan singled twice and had an RBI, Carson Burns drove in a run and scored once, and Glenn Jackson went 2-for-3 with an RBI and a run.

Santos Arias (4-2) picked up the win, giving up a run on four hits with five walks and five strikeouts over six innings.

Barrie improved to 20-8.

Justin Marra hit a solo home run for Toronto, which slipped to 13-14. Garret Takamatsu had two hits.

Marek Deska (1-4) took the loss, allowing 10 runs (nine earned) on 14 hits in 4.2 innings. He walked three and struck out one.
