The city’s live professional wrestling promotion is gearing up for a busy summer to go along with the monthly shows they have planned for the rest of the year.

Barrie Wrestling returns for their fifth annual Gold and Glory event at 49 Ferris Lane on Saturday, June 11.

Doors open at 4:30 p.m. and bell time is 5 p.m.

Running shows once a month at 49 Ferris Lane, Barrie Wrestling is getting back into the groove of live events after taking a break due to the pandemic.

Gold and Glory 5 will be their fourth show this year and capacity restrictions have been lifted.

Saturday’s event has six matches including three championship matches, a grudge tag team bout and a women’s match.

Barrie Wrestling is also back to their festival events, participating in their fourth Canada Day Chaos for the Downtown Barrie BIA (June 30, July 1, July 2).

After that they will have the July 9 WrestleParty 2022 event back at the Ferris Lane location and then the promotion will participate in their first Kempenfest (July 30, July 31).

Shows then continue at least once a month for the remainder of the year.

Made up of talent from all over Ontario and the U.S., Barrie Wrestling has seen some of their alumni make it big on TV, the goal of every wrestler.

'The Walking Weapon' Josh Alexander is on AXS TV as the IMPACT Wrestling heavyweight champion while 'Red Death' Daniel Garcia is a main event on All Elite Wrestling (TBS/TNT) and RJ City has been showcased on WWE and AEW.

Tickets for this Saturday, June 11 are $25 front row, $20 general admission and can be purchased at OMG Games, Doug Laurie Sports and Auctions or by contacting Barrie Wrestling on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and email at [email protected]
