A large section of the city of Barrie is in the dark this evening.
PowerStream Inc. reports the cause of the outage is unknown but crews have been dispatched to the area of the outage.
According to PowerStream's Twitter feed, power went down at about 5 p.m.
It is estimated that power will be restored to Barrie households in the outage area by 7 p.m.
