ONTARIO LOTTERY AND GAMING CORPORATION
TORONTO – Saying “yes” to ENCORE paid off for Thi Thuy Be Ho of Barrie. Thi matched the last six of seven ENCORE numbers in exact order in the Aug. 25, 2020 LOTTO MAX draw to win $100,000!
A 42-year-old mother, Thi is a weekly player who has been playing the same numbers for a couple of years. She was at the supermarket when she discovered her win. “I used the Ticket Checker and saw the ‘Big Winner’ message and thought the win was only for $100,” she shared, while at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to pick up her cheque. “When I asked the cashier to scan my ticket, the whole terminal shutdown. That’s when I saw the win was for $100,000! I was shaking I was so excited!”
The nail technician has plans to share her winnings with her family. “The first thing I am doing is sending money to my mom so she can have some repairs done on her house. I’m also going to save some so I can go back home to visit my family when the pandemic is over,” she smiled.
When Thi found out she won, she didn’t know what to think! “To be honest, at the time I was numb and shaking. I’ve never had money like this in my life. I feel so lucky and so happy. The pandemic has affected my business, so this is a blessing,” she concluded.
