Barrie man charged with impaired driving

Police received numerous citizen reports of a possible impaired driver travelling on County Road 4 in the town of Bradford West Gwillimbury.

INNISFIL - On Monday, December 28, 2015, at about 1:30 p.m., South Simcoe Police received numerous citizen reports of a possible impaired driver travelling on County Road 4 in the town of Bradford West Gwillimbury.  

Police continued to receive citizen reports updating the location of the possible impaired driver.  

Officers caught up to the vehicle in the area of Highway 400 and County Road 89 in Innisfil.  

The officer spoke to the male driver and placed him under arrest shortly thereafter for Impaired Driving.  

The driver was taken to the police station where further testing showed his blood/alcohol level to be four times the legal limit.  

A 33-year-old Barrie man has been charged with impaired driving and driving over 80 mgs.  

His licence has also been suspended for 90 days and the vehicle impounded for seven days.  

Police credit the numerous calls from the public in the apprehension of this impaired driver.
