The Ontario Bar Association has named John R. Cockburn, of Barriston Law LLP, a co-winner of its annual Joel Kuchar Award for Professionalism and Civility. Mr. Cockburn will be honoured at the annual OBA Awards Gala on April 17 in Toronto.

He is one of a handful of outstanding members of the legal profession who are being recognized for their contributions to the practice of law in Ontario and to the Ontario Bar Association.

The Joel Kuchar Award for Professionalism and Civility was created to honour OBA members who have consistently demonstrated exemplary commitment to the ideals of professionalism and civility in the practice of law.

This year’s other association award winners are:

AWARD FOR DISTINGUISHED SERVICE: Eva E. Marszewski, Peacebuilders International (Canada); Albert H. Oosterhoff, WEL Partners Professional Corporation; Martin M. Sclisizzi, Bay Street Chambers.
