CITY OF BARRIE

The City of Barrie is hosting a drop-in workshop and online opportunities for a community discussion on growth. The conversation will focus on intensification and the opportunities it presents for cities to transform, mature, embrace vibrancy and seize economic development.

“The City of Barrie is growing with an anticipated 210,000 people calling Barrie home by 2031,” said Andrea Bourrie, director of planning and building services. “How we prepare to meet this growth will have lasting effects on Barrie’s economic, social, cultural and environmental landscape. Our collective vision is one key element that will help shape our community, improve the quality of life for residents, and build Barrie’s future today.”

Your input matters! Join the interactive workshop on Tuesday, April 17 from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Sheba Shrine Club (142 John St.). It’s open to everyone and registration isn’t required.

Residents are also encouraged to share ideas and add to the discussion in a new online forum. Online engagement will be open until April 30, 2018.

Participate in the workshop or online for a chance to win. Visit our website for more information and to join the conversations.
