BARRIE CHAMBER OF COMMERCE

Today, the Barrie Chamber of Commerce is excited to announce the addition of Rod Jackson as CEO.

Jackson will be leading the long-term revitalization and rebranding of the Chamber.

The Board would like to express their thanks to Past President and Interim GM, Todd Armstrong, who assisted during the transition.

"I'm very excited to dig in and get started! Leading the team at the Chamber will be a great challenge and opportunity" said Jackson. "This role complements my past experiences as a small business owner and a community leader."

Jackson is a fourth generation Barrie resident.

He has owned a Human Resources consulting business that served a broad range of clients from local businesses to international corporations such as Bombardier, Quebecor, and Bell.

Jackson has also served as a Barrie City Councillor and Member of Provincial Parliament.

The Barrie Chamber of Commerce has been undergoing a transformation for the past year and a half and is now in the home stretch of its rebranding.

The Chamber's goal is to exemplify business excellence and to bring the level of service to local businesses and the community into a new era.

The Chamber believes Jackson is the right person to lead the team and get the job done.

"We took this search cautiously and, after identifying several outstanding candidates, we are confident that Rod has the right mix of business, community and leadership experience to achieve the Board's strategic vision and help move the Chamber and our members into the future," remarked Stella Millis, the President of the Barrie Chamber of Commerce Board.

"We needed someone who could project a strong and positive image in the community to give our members confidence that the Chamber is ready to effectively represent and advocate for Barrie business," Millis added.

Jackson looks forward to growing the Chamber membership, engaging current business members, and continuing his involvement within the community.
