Armed robbery weapon found

On Friday afternoon just after 4 p.m, investigators recovered further evidence from the armed robbery Thursday night.

An air soft pellet gun was located in a ditch just west of the MacEwen gas bar.

It is believed the suspects discarded the pellet gun moments prior to being arrested by police.

The three suspects will appear in a Barrie court in January.

On Thursday, December 17, 2015, just after 11 p.m. two males entered the McEwen Gas Station located at 652 Dunlop Street West, in the City of Barrie, armed with a handgun and disguised with masks.

The two men located the store employee in the back office and tied him up at gun point while demanding money. 

The employee was not physically injured.

The suspects exited the store with a quantity of Canadian currency and were observed by a witness fleeing the area on foot to a vehicle waiting nearby.

Responding officers observed a vehicle driving away from the scene at Miller Drive and Dunlop Street West. 

The vehicle was quickly stopped and the two men were located inside.

Police located the currency taken from the store as well as items used by the men during the robbery.

Police searched the nearby area in attempts to locate further evidence believed to have been discarded, although were met with negative results.

Investigators will be in the area Friday morning to continue the search.

Police have charged the two men ages 46 and 39 from the GTA area with; robbery, disguise with intent, forcible confinement and breach of probation.

The driver of the vehicle, a 27 year-old Barrie male has been charged with robbery.

All three men were held for bail and will appearing in a Barrie Court Friday morning.
