Since purchasing the Cookstown Antique Market in 2017, Bill and Diana Robinson have raised more than $12,500 for three charities near and dear to their hearts.
Those are Stevenson Memorial Hospital in Alliston, the Hospital for Sick Children (Sick Kids) in Toronto, and Holland-Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation Hospital.
This winter, they are launching a new fundraiser, Antiques After Dark, to boost fundraising efforts for the three hospitals and to share the “magic” of the antique market at night.
The 6,000-square-foot, century-old barn, reconstructed by Bill’s parents at 5108 County Rd. 27 just north of Cookstown, houses 35 antique vendors, offering antiques, vintage items and collectibles.
“It’s a different place at night,” says Diana. “It’s magical!”
From 7-9 p.m., on the final Wednesday of the month in January, February and March, ticket holders will be welcomed into the barn to browse and enjoy old world music, food and beverages.
A ticket good for all three evenings is only $20, or $30 for two people. Those who come out to all three evenings will have their ticket entered into a grand prize draw.
“We wanted it to be affordable,” says Diana.
