NEWS RELEASE

BARRIE POLICE SERVICE

*************************
On Thursday, Sept. 22, 2016 at 3:40 a.m. Barrie Police received a call for a suspicious male outside Mac's Convenience located at 477 Grove Street East, in the City of Barrie.

The male engaged an unknown male in a physical altercation outside the store.

Police suspected they knew who was causing the issues as they had two previous incidents with a male who was removed from a local bar earlier by staff and a complaint from a taxi driver that a rider refused to pay the fare, taking off on foot.

Officers located the irate male by Johnston's Beach as he fled the area through the bush area.

He was located as he came back up to the street on Kempenfelt Drive. He was still causing a scene but was swiftly arrested for Breach of Peace.

The 22-year-old Barrie male was taken to Barrie Police Service and held in cells until he calmed down and could behave properly.
