2019 was 'a banner year' for real-estate industry, says Barrie broker

The Ontario Real Estate Association has announced that Barrie-based real estate broker, Mike Douglas, will continue this second year of his two-year term as Director-at-Large at OREA. The announcement follows the Association’s annual conference from Feb. 25, 2020.
 
In this capacity, Mr. Douglas will be representing the association’s members on the 2020 OREA Board of Directors.
 
“2019 was a banner year for our industry, as we were successful in advocating for higher professional standards in real estate and fostering increased engagement from our members. But the work isn’t finished yet and I’m looking forward to continuing to push for more affordable home ownership for future generations,” said Mr. Douglas.
 
Active in the real estate profession for over 25 years, Mr. Douglas is a broker with ReMax Hallmark-Chay Realty Inc., Brokerage in Barrie.  Mr. Douglas is a member of the Barrie & District Association of REALTORS® (BDAR), where he served as President in 2016. At OREA, Mr. Douglas previously served as the Northeastern Area Director and Director-at-Large.  He was an instructor at the OREA Real Estate College and currently serves as Chair of OREA’s Government Relations Committee.
 
The Ontario Real Estate Association represents 80,000 brokers and salespeople who are members of the 37 real estate boards throughout the province. OREA serves its Realtor members through a wide variety of professional publications, educational programs, advocacy, and other services.
