TORONTO – Recently, 46 employees from  four of Ontario’s largest electrical utilities, came together to participate in The 2016 Enbridge® Ride to Conquer Cancer®, a two-day charity cycling event across southern Ontario’s countryside.

Together, under the team name “Power4,” employees from Enersource, Horizon Utilities, Hydro One Brampton and PowerStream pedalled over 200 kilometres from Toronto to Niagara Falls, raising over $138,000 in support of The Princess Margaret Cancer Centre

The team’s fundraising efforts contributed to the $17.3 million total that 4,253 riders raised for cancer research and treatment at the Centre.

Pending approval by the Ontario Energy Board, the four utilities are expected to soon become one electric utility, serving close to a million customers in the Greater Golden Horseshoe area.

The coming together of these employees for such an important cause is a reflection of the level of corporate responsibility and community support that the new company would exhibit.
