$1,000 reward for Fentanyl tips

In an effort to assist our police partners reduce the illegal use and trafficking of Fentanyl in our communities, Crime Stoppers of Simcoe-Dufferin-Muskoka is implementing a drug-reduction strategy.

Crime Stoppers of Simcoe-Dufferin-Muskoka will pay a $1,000 reward to tipsters during the months of February and March 2017 for information that leads to the seizure of illicit fentanyl or derivatives for the purpose of trafficking and /or the arrest of individuals involved in trafficking Fentanyl in our communities.

Barrie Police Chief Kimberley Greenwood had this to say about the strategy;

“The Barrie Police Service and Crime Stoppers of Simcoe-Dufferin-Muskoka have a positive and collaborative partnership with the common goal of providing enhanced community safety and wellbeing to the citizens of our city. The continuous efforts of Crime Stoppers in harm reduction through the implementation of this drug reduction strategy, as well as their pledge of anonymity, will offer our citizens another tool to combat the current fentanyl and opioid epidemic.”
