The Bollywood Festival and Movie Night took place at Friday Harbour in Innisfil on Saturday evening.
The event was a collaboration between the Ethnic Mosaic Alliance (EMA) and the South Asian Association of Simcoe County (SAASC). Organizer and master of ceremonies for the evening was Sangita Madan, from the SAASC.
The event was hosted in the middle of the boardwalk at the Friday Harbour complex beside the docks on the waterfront.
On display were a handful of vendors offering food and clothing, as well as Henna art.
Later in the evening, Om Shanti Om, a Bollywood film, was screened on a large inflatable movie screen.
Entertainment for the night included Bollywood-style and classical dancing from Dreams Entertainment company.
”We were very pleased with the turnout and results of our festival and movie night," Medan said. "We will now confer with our respective boards to see if we can move forward for next year."
She thanked all the volunteers, associations and governments for their continued support with the event.
