The following letter is in response to an article titled 'Brassard says he will vote against 'intrusive' Emergencies Act tonight,' published Feb. 21.

I am amazed by the decision of Mr. Brassard and his party to vote against the Emergencies Act.

It was obvious that there was not going to be any resolution without some drastic support for the police.

The people of Ottawa were held hostage, the borders were compromised and no one who was part of the insurrection was going to go anywhere without some actions as they felt "freedom" means being absolved from all the rules that keep us civilized and caring for each other.

We who have followed the rules and have been vaccinated, wear masks and keep our distance appear to be ignored.

Remember, we are the majority.

I guess we will see what happens when we have our next election.
