The following letter is in response to a story titled 'Health unit changes course, IOOF residents will get vaccines at home' published on March 4.

I wish to extend my thanks to your local news outlet regarding COVID vaccination procurement for the residents living in the assisted living section at the IOOF.

I Googled your newspaper and sent an email stating my concern last Sunday. I was contacted early on Monday morning by a reporter named Nikki Cole, who indicated that my story interested her.

She did a thorough investigation of all parties concerned, composed a comprehensive write-up and had it published in less than 48 hours.

Thanks to this media coverage, I have been informed that this problem has been resolved.

I may have started the ball rolling, but thanks to Nikki's excellent writing skill, a positive outcome has been achieved not just for my two parents, but for all of the residents where they live.
