Dear Mayor Jeff Lehman and Council,

As citizens of Barrie, my wife and I would like to thank you for all the work you do for the town in general.

We, too, believe in free speech as long as it does not put others at risk. The freedom rallies, with hundreds of  people not wearing masks or practising distancing, are at cross purposes with the rest of the population that are obeying the recommendations of doctors in trying to put an end to the pandemic we are in.

Why the town permits these rallies to take place continually, while preventing a controlled number of masked citizens from entering stores and restaurants, is very difficult to understand.

Please help end this pandemic by refusing to allow these "freedom rallies" to continue.

The police, issuing a few tickets, is obviously ineffective.
