People are once again beating the drums of discontent about "progress" and in this case are so far off the mark it's laughable.

They claim all kinds of dire consequences from added traffic without coming to grips with a couple of actual facts:

1. Our federal government (in their so-called wisdom) is going to welcome millions more people to Canada over the next two decades, all wanting jobs and most needing transportation.

2. Our federal government (with great hope) is mandating the conversion of (most) vehicular traffic to non-carbon over the next two decades, thus cleaning the air and our consciences.

If people think the traffic gridlock around Toronto (the GTA) is bad now, what do they think millions more people and vehicles will bring if we don't improve the infrastructure?

Personally, getting off oil where it's economically viable is OK with me as long as I have heat and hydro, adding millions more people is as stupid a thing as could be conceived.
