Rainfall warning in effect.

Becoming cloudy this morning. Rain beginning this afternoon. Fog patches developing this afternoon. High 6.

Rain and fog patches tonight. Amount 25 mm. Temperature rising to 8 by morning.

Rain tomorrow.  Amount 10 to 20 mm. Wind southwest 30 km/h. High 13.

Here are the details of the rainfall warning issued by Environment Canada in effect for:

  • Barrie - Collingwood - Hillsdale
  • Midland - Coldwater - Orr Lake
  • Orillia - Lagoon City - Washago

Rain, heavy at times is expected. The frozen ground has a reduced ability to absorb this rainfall.

Significant rainfall on the way beginning this evening.

A warm front associated with a low pressure area will move through the region tonight, bringing a significant amount of rain with it.

Latest indication suggest close to 25 mm of rain may fall by Tuesday morning, meeting Environment Canada's criterion for rainfall warning when the ground is frozen.

Rain is expected to continue on Tuesday and Tuesday night as the warm front stalls just to the north of the region.

Localized flooding in low-lying areas is possible. If visibility is reduced while driving, slow down, watch for tail lights ahead and be prepared to stop.

Rainfall warnings are issued when significant rainfall is expected.
