Here are the details of the special weather statement issued by Environment Canada in effect for:
- Barrie - Collingwood - Hillsdale
Lake effect snow continues today.
Bands of lake effect snow will move across the areas southeast of Lake Huron and Georgian Bay today.
Snowfall amounts of 5 to 10 cm are likely in the heaviest flurries. Locally higher amounts of 10 to 15 cm are possible in one or two localities.
While snow squalls are possible, they will be brief and on the move, and snowfall amounts are expected to remain below the warning threshold of 15 cm per 12 hours.
Poor winter driving conditions are expected due to low visibility in bursts of heavier snow, and accumulating snow on untreated highways. Motorists should allow extra time to reach their destination.
