Good morning Barrie! Bitter cold snap is back

A special weather statement is in effect warning of a cold snap for Barrie and Simcoe County. 

Flurries today with local blowing snow this afternoon. Local amount 5 cm. Wind gusting to 50 km/h. Temperature falling to minus 15 this afternoon. Wind chill minus 27 this afternoon.

Flurries tonight with about 2 to 4 cm accumulation.  Wind north 30 km/h. Low minus 22. Wind chill minus 35.

Flurries tomorrow.  Local blowing snow in the afternoon. Local amount 2 to 4 cm. Wind north 30 km/h gusting to 50. High minus 19. Wind chill minus 34.

  • Midland - Coldwater - Orr Lake
  • Orillia - Lagoon City - Washago
  • Innisfil - New Tecumseth - Angus
  • Orangeville - Grand Valley - Southern Dufferin County
  • Shelburne - Mansfield - Northern Dufferin County

Cold snap from today through Saturday.

A bitterly cold northwesterly flow will develop over southern Ontario today. Extreme cold warning criteria of minus 30 is expected to be met in many places tonight into Friday and again Friday night into Saturday.

The cold snap will end by Sunday as a southwesterly flow develops.
