Two new COVID cases confirmed in Barrie

There are now 19 active cases of COVID-19 in Simcoe County, including three people who are hospitalized

The region's health unit has reported four new COVID-19 cases since its last update on Friday, July 10. 

Half of the new cases are in Barrie, including a man between 65 and 79 years old, and a man between 45 and 64 years old. Both cases are listed as community-acquired. 

There's also a new case in Innisfil today, a man between the ages of 45 and 64. The case transmission is linked to the man's workplace. 

A fourth case reported by the health unit is a man between 35 and 44 years old from Huntsville. The case is considered community-acquired. This is the first case reported in Huntsville since June 16. 

The Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit has reported 613 lab-confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the region to date, with 582 of those reported in Simcoe County.

Thirty-six people have died and the health unit has reported 556 recoveries. The incidence rate for Simcoe-Muskoka region is 103.1 cases per 100,000 people in the population. 

There are 19 active cases of COVID-19 in Simcoe County including three people hospitalized, according to the health unit's July 13 epidemiological report.
