The YMCA of Simcoe/Muskoka is honoured to once again receive the support of Zehrs’ Give a Little, Help a Lot campaign to assist children in Simcoe County and Muskoka.

For 11 years, Zehrs Markets and their parent company, Loblaw Companies Limited, have been working with the YMCA to create opportunities for children to connect with each other and gain healthy habits that will last a lifetime.

From July 9 to July 26, Zehrs Markets stores in Ontario invite shoppers to Give a Little, Help a Lot by adding $2 to their grocery bill in support of their local YMCA.

Three Zehrs stores in Barrie - located at Essa Road, Duckworth Street and Big Bay Point - are participating in the campaign.

In the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, more than ever before, the funds collected from the participating locations are needed to provide financial assistance to allow kids in Simcoe and Muskoka participate in health-focused YMCA programs that will help ensure they remain connected and healthy during times of isolation.

“The Give a Little, Help a Lot campaign gives children the opportunity, no matter their financial circumstances, to access YMCA programs and be part of a supportive community,” says Brian Shelley, Vice President, of the YMCA of Simcoe/Muskoka.

“The YMCA is playing a significant role in the economic and social recovery of communities due to COVID-19 and that includes ensuring kids and their families continue to have access to the resources they need. We appreciate the generosity from those who give and guarantee these meaningful experiences for children are available now and in the future.”
