The province is reporting 165 new cases of COVID-19 today, bringing the total to 35,535 cases.
This represents an increase of 0.5 per cent since the last report.
Two more people have died since yesterday’s report, bringing the Ontario death count to 2,682.
Of the total number of cases, 30,909 have been resolved. Since the July 2 report, 179 more cases were resolved.
The Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit is expected to update its local numbers this afternoon.
As of July 2, the number of COVID-19 cases in Simcoe-Muskoka increased by three since the last update prior to Canada Day.
New cases reported on Thursday were in Essa Township and New Tecumseth.
There were 602 cases in Simcoe-Muskoka as of Thursday. That includes 571 in Simcoe County and 30 in the District of Muskoka. The person's residency in another case is pending.
Of the total local cases, 508 people have recovered from the virus, including five since the last update.
Four people remain in hospital being treated for the virus.
Since the health crisis began in March, 36 people have died locally from the coronavirus.
