‘Support we are seeing is overwhelming,’ as parade rolls past RVH to say thanks

Thanks and decorations warm the hearts of RVH staff in show of appreciation

Close to 50 Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre (RVH) staff stood next to Georgian Drive on Monday night to take in the more than 200 vehicles driving by to thank them for their resilience during the COVID-19 health crisis.

Some of the cars, trucks and motorcycles were decorated with signs and balloons as they drove past the hospital toward Gallie Court to turn around and head back down toward Duckworth Street to do it again.

Emergency department registered practical nurse Jennifer Frandsen was by the road and waving to the parade of grateful people. She told BarrieToday that the outpouring of appreciation from everyone has been welcomed.

“This is great, the community coming together like this. The support we are seeing is overwhelming,” said Frandsen. “We have been getting a lot of thanks with people bringing stuff in for us, coffee and such.

“Every little bit definitely helps.”
