While there are no new cases of COVID-19 at Simcoe Manor in Beeton, one more resident has died from the virus.

The home, located in the town of New Tecumseth, is owned by the County of Simcoe, but officials from Barrie's Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre (RVH) were recently brought in to manage the outbreak at the facility following a provincial order.

Of the 40 residents who tested positive for COVID-19 earlier this month, 29 have recovered and 10 have died; one is currently hospitalized.

Of the 28 staff cases, 17 have recovered.

The last new cases at the facility were reported on Oct. 18, following the mass testing completed on Oct. 16
